Megan
Practice ManagerMegan joined the Lakewood team in July 2019. She was cross-trained working at the front desk and on the clinical side and is now serving as our practice manager. She studied International Affairs and Environmental Sustainability at the University of Mary Washington. She enjoys interacting with clients and meeting their furry family members. Megan loves all animals but has a soft spot for hounds. She lives in Spotsylvania with her family and dog, Amelia. She enjoys spending time outdoors and with her family.

Tracy
Lead Veterinary AssistantTracy joined Lakewood in April 2023. She started out as a receptionist for an animal clinic in Alaska, was cross-trained, and became a Certified Veterinary Assistant in 2014. She is currently continuing her education to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. In her free time, Tracy enjoys spending time with her family and cuddling with her two loveable pitties, Calvin and Hobbes.

Francesca
Veterinary AssistantFrancesca joined the team in December 2020. She had prior experience working as a veterinary assistant in the veterinary field. She has dachshund and a black cat that absolutely adore each other. She is currently enrolled in school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician! When she is not at work she is taking care of her pets and her two amazing little boys.

Kelly
Veterinary AssistantKelly came to Lakewood Animal Hospital July 2022. Prior to joining us, she was a receptionist at a spay & neuter clinic for 5 years. About 1 year ago, her family consisting of her, her husband, 3 dogs & 2 kitties, moved to Lake Anna. When Kelly is not at work, she enjoys reading, boating and going on walks with her pups.

Alyssa
Veterinary AssistantAlyssa joined the Lakewood Animal Hospital team in the summer of 2025. As a veterinary assistant, she is excited to be starting her journey in the veterinary medicine field, where she gets to work closely with pets and the people who love them. She has always been passionate about animals, with a special soft spot for German shepherds. In her free time, she enjoys training her dogs, coloring, gardening, and spending time with her close friends.

Sydney
Veterinary AssistantSydney joined Lakewood Animal Hospital in October 2025. Before joining our team, she worked as a veterinary assistant and receptionist at a small animal hospital for three years. She enjoys building connections with clients and their pets and is passionate about providing quality care to every patient. In her free time, Sydney loves reading, spending time with her husband, and going on adventures with her Border Collie, Finn.

Melinda
Veterinary AssistantMelinda is a graduate of Long Medical Institute, completing her veterinary assistant education in 1994, and brings many years of experience and dedication to the veterinary field. After recently relocating to Virginia, she joined the Lakewood Team in November 2025 and looks forward to continuing to provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients and clients. Outside of work, Melinda enjoys baking and cooking and loves spending time with her two dogs, Addison and Skippy.

Sarah
Veterinary ReceptionistSarah has worked in the veterinary field since 2016 and says her favorite patients are senior pets because they’re gentle and well-mannered, even the cranky ones! She is a mother of spiders, dogs, and (bearded) dragons – as you can imagine, her animals occupy the majority of her free time!

Tamara
Veterinary ReceptionistTamara joined the Lakewood team in August of 2025. Before this, she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA focused on food insecurity at her alma mater, the University of Mary Washington, where she graduated with a degree in Conservation Biology. When she's not behind the desk, she's throwing a ball for her Corgi, Mob and working towards her Master's in Animal Shelter Management.
